Synopsis

Thingvellir, known as "Parliament Grounds," sits on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the American and European tectonic plates separate. The documentary presents detailed aerial and close-up footage of the area, illustrating the geological activity that causes the ground to split and Lake Thingvallavatn to expand. At around 10,000 years old, the lake is home to four varieties of Arctic Char, which have evolved in its clear waters. The film captures the unique flora and fauna that thrive in this meeting place of two continents.
