Synopsis

Balaton, the largest shallow water lake in Central Europe, attracts numerous vacationers each summer. Surrounding the lake are significant geological features, including volcanoes, caves, and tufaceous limestone stairs, all part of the European Geopark Network. The moors around Balaton provide essential habitats for wildlife such as ground squirrels, wildcats, peregrines, and mass-nesting egrets. Director Szabolcs Mosonyi captures the interactions between geology, wildlife, and human activity that shape this unique environment.
