Synopsis

In the high mountain pasture known as “Eternal” on the westernmost border of Xinjiang, China, Mongolian herders face a significant shift in their way of life. Over 18 years, the film captures their transition from a nomadic existence to a settled lifestyle. The documentary details the challenges and changes these herders encounter as they adapt to new living conditions while preserving their cultural identity. The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of a rapidly changing environment and societal pressures.
