Refugees Return In Congo

Synopsis

Refugees from Eastern Congo, who fled violence from Rwandan soldiers, government troops, and gangs, are returning to their villages after years of displacement. In the Kalemie region, over a million people have been on the run, traumatized by their experiences. With peace restored, two priests facilitate their return using a repaired locomotive, although many must walk 50 to 200 km due to mined tracks. Despite the challenges, the refugees express joy at the prospect of returning home, grateful for their survival.
