The Wanderers

Synopsis

After surviving 30 years of war and 15 years as refugees, 380,000 Cambodians return to their homeland in 1992 from Thai border camps. Some of these repatriated individuals are resettled in villages constructed for them by the United Nations. The return of these exiled families creates tension, as those who remained in Cambodia view their arrival as a threat to their land and social balance. The documentary examines the challenges faced by both groups as they navigate the complexities of rebuilding their society after such a traumatic scattering.
