Synopsis
Ryo Murakami, a Japanese cinematographer, enters the Firestone Tire and Rubber Plantation in Liberia under the cover of night. He captures footage of the living conditions and labor practices on the plantation, which have changed little since it opened in 1926. Journalistic access to the site is restricted, making Murakami's work a rare independent perspective on the lives of plantation workers. The documentary runs for 25 minutes and was directed by Judd Ehrlich in 2015.
