Cameraman György Petö recorded private films in Szeged, Hungary, before and during World War II. His footage captures moments with his family, particularly his girlfriend and later wife, Eva Lengyel. As the anti-Jewish laws and political upheavals unfold, the films reveal the tightening grip of oppression on Petö's life. Péter Forgács combines these personal records with additional footage to create a historical document that reflects on a dark period and advocates for human dignity.
