Synopsis
Pregnancies at the age of eleven or twelve mark the beginning of motherhood for girls who were married off by their parents as young as five years old.
Synopsis
Five- and six-year-old girls recall being taken from playgrounds and given to much older men for marriage. They share memories of violence and fear, along with pregnancies that began at ages eleven or twelve. These girls became mothers while still children themselves. Their stories remained hidden to protect their families from chaos. Director Yael Kipper Zaretzky presents their suppressed memories in "Child Mother," a 90-minute documentary that confronts the realities of child marriage and its lasting effects.
