Synopsis

Masaru Nomoto follows the Kazankirans, a Kurdish family from Turkey, who seek asylum in Japan but face deportation. In 2005, the family stages a sit-in outside the United Nations University to demand refugee status. After the father and eldest son are deported, Nomoto travels to Turkey to document their experiences and engage with local perspectives on Kurdish identity. The film runs for 103 minutes and was released in 2008.
