On Iwaijima Island, residents have fought for 28 years against plans to build a nuclear power plant across the bay. Takashi, the island's youngest resident, dreams of a sustainable future while Mr. Ujimoto works to reclaim abandoned farmland for sustainable agriculture. As the power company attempts to fill in the bay for construction, the community unites to confront the threat. The documentary contrasts their struggle with efforts in Sweden to implement sustainable energy solutions. Filming began in 2008 and concluded in 2010, just before the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake.
