Synopsis
In Ushimado, a village in the Seto Inland Sea of Japan, 86-year-old Wai-chan fishes alone from his small boat, contemplating retirement. Nearby, 84-year-old Kumi-san searches the shores, believing a social welfare facility has wrongfully taken her disabled son. Koso-san, an elderly woman, runs a seafood store inherited from her late husband, selling fish to locals and feeding stray cats. As modernization impacts the area, the film captures the challenges faced by these aging residents and their connection to a fading way of life.
