Synopsis
Chernivtsi, a city in Ukraine that was once the capital of Bukowina in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, serves as the backdrop for this documentary. It revisits the lives of emigrants and their descendants, reflecting on the diverse cultural history of the region. Once home to a population of 150,000, nearly half were Jewish. Volker Koepp, who previously filmed Herr Zwilling und Frau Zuckermann in the same city, returns to capture the stories of those connected to Chernivtsi's rich past.
