Synopsis

At Russ and Daughters, a lox and herring emporium on the Lower East Side of New York City, two of the original daughters, aged 100 and 92, reflect on their family's century-long legacy. The documentary features interviews with notable patrons, including Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and chef Mario Batali, who discuss the establishment's cultural significance. Instead of a traditional narrator, six devoted customers in their 80s and 90s read the script around a table of fish, evoking a Passover Seder.
