The Roots Remain

Synopsis

Montreal graffiti artist Fonki travels to Cambodia to paint a mural honoring his relatives killed during the genocide. He arrives in a country still grappling with its past. While there, Fonki meets Cambodian youth who have also returned to reconnect with their heritage. Together, they seek to revitalize a culture that suffered immense loss. The film runs for 73 minutes and presents a personal narrative set against the backdrop of Cambodia's historical trauma.
