Synopsis

Sarith Ou's escape from the Khmer Rouge genocide in the 1970s led him to small-town Wisconsin, where he became a leader in the Cambodian refugee community. Despite finding safety, the trauma of his past lingered. His return to Cambodia, alongside Roger, a Vietnam veteran and psychologist, aims to bring hope to rural communities still scarred by the genocide. Together, they work to heal their own wounds while fostering resilience and education in a country striving to recover from its dark history.
