Local communities devise their own methods to fight malaria, addressing the shortcomings of large organizations such as the Gates Foundation and the World Health Organization. Director Katharina Weingartner captures these efforts in her 2020 documentary, “The Fever.” The film presents the struggles of these communities and their fight against a disease that claims more lives than any other illness or conflict.
