Synopsis

On December 15 and 16, 1977, the Uruguayan Joint Forces conducted a military operation that resulted in the kidnapping of five men, five women, and five girls. These individuals were Montonero militants. Some were killed, while others were imprisoned in common Uruguayan facilities. A number of them were clandestinely taken, tortured, and sent to ESMA, the Navy School of Mechanics. This operation is believed to have initiated Operation Condor, a coordinated effort between the dictatorships of Uruguay and Argentina.
