Synopsis
Newfoundland's military bases hosted thousands of American soldiers during World War II and the Cold War. Seven women from this region married these soldiers, becoming part of a significant cultural exchange. As many as 40,000 Newfoundland women formed relationships with American servicemen. The film uses interviews and archival footage to tell their stories of love, loss, and joy against the backdrop of major historical events. The documentary runs for 52 minutes and was released in 1997.
