Synopsis
A group of young Black artists gathers in Toronto's underground scene to express their creativity. These first and second generation Caribbean immigrants perform a mix of poetry, rap, and music in public spaces. Their work combines entertainment and education, aiming to engage and empower their community. Through their performances, they challenge societal norms and celebrate their cultural heritage. Directed by Bárbara Wagner, "Rise" captures the energy of these artists as they redefine Black identity in Canada.
