Synopsis
In Almeria Province, Spain, the invernaderos stretch across 150 square miles, forming the largest collection of greenhouses in the world. These structures are visible from space and produce a significant portion of Europe’s vegetables and fruit. Each year, more than 30,000 tons of plastic waste are generated from this intensive farming. The greenhouses are staffed by many migrant workers who endure extreme heat during the summer months.
