Synopsis
Mines and quarries across the globe reveal the scale of human intervention in nature. Filmmaker Nikolaus Geyrhalter captures the movement of several billion tons of earth each year through shovels, excavators, and dynamite. Workers at large construction sites engage in the extraction of natural resources. The documentary presents the environmental consequences of these activities.
