Piripkura

Synopsis

Pakyî and Tamandua, the last two members of the Piripkura tribe, reside deep in Brazil's Mato Grosso region. They rely on traditional tools, including a machete and an ax, to sustain their way of life. Since 1998, they have used a torch to maintain their connection to their culture. As deforestation encroaches on their rainforest home, they confront the challenges posed by modern development. The documentary captures their struggle to preserve their identity amid environmental destruction.
