Synopsis

Granny Fan mourns the loss of two sons and two grandsons in a mining accident in New Castle, a remote village altered by extensive mining. Under the "New Village" campaign, villagers face relocation to nearly completed luxury buildings. Miners from across the country have lost their jobs due to the mine's closure ahead of the Beijing Olympic Games.
