Synopsis

To the southeast of the River Omo in Ethiopia, the Karo, an ethnic group of about 1,000 people, face numerous threats to their survival. Persistent droughts lead to cycles of famine, while conflicts with the powerful Mursi tribe pose additional risks. Despite these challenges, the Karo maintain their customs and way of life, which have remained unchanged for 500 years. They express their social status and personal identities through intricate skin ornaments, showcasing their unique cultural heritage.
