Synopsis
Joris Ivens, a Dutch filmmaker, resigned as Film Commissioner for the Netherlands East Indies in 1946. He created Indonesia Calling. to document the blockade of Dutch shipping by Indonesian, Indian, Chinese, and Australian trade unions. This action supported the newly declared Republic of Indonesia.
