Synopsis

Mornington Island in Australia’s far north is home to the Aboriginal theatre group The Mornington Island Dancers. Gunana, produced with the Aboriginal Education Unit at Melbourne State College, presents a view of daily life on the island. The film includes scenes of community activities and features excerpts from a dance performance at Mt Druitt Primary School. It runs for 29 minutes and was released in 1982.
