Adapted from the American format American Gladiators, the show featured intense physical competitions between contestants and a team of athletes known as Gladiators. Refereed by John Anderson, the series was filmed primarily at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham. A children's version, Gladiators: Train 2 Win, aired on CITV from 1995 to 1998.
