Synopsis

Gerlach van Beinum tends to his crops on the outskirts of Amsterdam, cultivating potatoes, beetroot, grain, and strawberries. Over several years, he faces the encroachment of distribution centers and highways that threaten his farmland. With the support of his best friend Rinus, Gerlach maintains his traditional farming practices. His farmhouse becomes a gathering place for neighbors and friends, where they share moments of joy amid the rapid changes in their environment. The film presents a contrast between Gerlach's lifestyle and the modern world surrounding him.
