Aliona van der Horst visits a small wooden house in the Russian countryside, inherited from her mother. The house measures just six square meters and connects her to her family's past. Van der Horst learns about her mother's experiences during Stalin's regime, including fear, famine, and war. Italian animator Simone Massi enriches the film with animation that illustrates these historical events, revealing the struggles faced by ordinary people in that farmhouse.
