Synopsis
In Warnemünde, East Germany, workers at a state-owned fishing concern and crane operators at the Warnow dockyards go about their daily lives in October 1987. Amber Films, a documentary collective from Newcastle, captures their stories as the first British crew allowed to film in the region. Two years later, East Germany dissolves, leading to the loss of many jobs depicted in the footage. In 2014, the filmmakers return to Rostock to reconnect with their subjects, reviewing original clips and discussing the changes in their lives since the fall of the Berlin Wall.
