Synopsis

Martin Uhernik faces serious charges after the murder of his neighbor, Jakob Luzar. Initially acquitted due to insufficient evidence, Uhernik's case is reopened when new evidence emerges, leading to a conviction in a higher court. His wife, Ana, is also implicated in the crime. Over eight years of imprisonment, their family disintegrates; Ana dies, and their children, aged eight and twelve, are placed in the care of others.
