On March 30, 1985, Derek and Nancy Haysom were murdered in their home in Bedford County, Virginia. Their daughter, Elizabeth Haysom, and her boyfriend, Jens Söring, became central figures in the case. After fleeing to Europe, they were extradited back to the United States. Elizabeth was convicted of incitement to murder and sentenced to 90 years. Jens received two life sentences. The film includes original footage from the trials and interviews with key witnesses and investigators.
