Factory to the Workers

Synopsis

Workers occupy a machine tools factory in Croatia in 2005. Filmmaker Srđan Kovačević follows their efforts to create a collective enterprise over five years. The film shows the challenges they face as they attempt to operate outside traditional capitalist structures. Economic pressures from the global market lead to discontent among the workforce. A decade later, the workers still grapple with the question of sustaining their model of collective ownership amid ongoing difficulties.
