Synopsis

A grandmother, a veteran of the Second World War, arrived in Latvia in 1955 seeking a better life. Her story, along with that of her daughter, a lecturer at a closing Transport and Telecommunication Institute, and her eighteen-year-old granddaughter, an artist studying at the Latvian Art School, unfolds against the backdrop of the Russian-speaking community in the Baltic countries. Set in 2020, the film examines whether this family has found its place in Latvian society after 30 years of independence.
