Synopsis
Amos Vogel, co-founder of the New York Film Festival, shares his story alongside eleven other Viennese Jews in Egon Humer's documentary Emigration N.Y. The film recounts their childhoods in Austria before the 1938 Anschluss and their subsequent emigration to the United States. Over three years, approximately 30,000 Jewish Austrians fled to New York City. Through personal narratives, the subjects reflect on their experiences of exile and the challenges of assimilation in a new country.
