Synopsis
Maria Bartel, a baker from Berlin, navigated life during a tumultuous period in history. Born in 1902, she moved to Berlin in 1920 with her first husband from East Prussia. After his suicide, Bartel opened a bakery, which she operated until the end of World War II in 1945. Throughout her life, she raised her son and engaged in various relationships. The documentary reconstructs her story using photos and letters discovered in a landfill.
