Synopsis

In November 2007, China faces a significant public health crisis as infant birth defects have surged by 40% over the past six years. Activists attribute this alarming increase to pollution from factories, which is contaminating local water sources. Wu Deng Ming, an activist, highlights the issue by revealing that untreated waste is secretly discharged into rivers at night. Residents living near these polluted waterways report serious health issues, including enlarged livers, loss of appetite, and even cancer. The documentary showcases the efforts of green campaigners who are challenging multinational corporations to address the environmental damage and protect the health of communities affected by industrial pollution in China.
