Synopsis
In a remote valley of Sichuan province, a boy named Tan Cong lives near a sulphur-iron mine established in 1950. The mine, located at the boundary of Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou, covers 1,774 square meters. It began large-scale sulphur smelting after a discovery in the 1920s. The Yong Ning River flows northward from this site, traveling 108 kilometers to the Yangtze River. The film follows Tan Cong and his family, along with a local school teacher and residents involved in sulphur smelting.
