Ponijao enters the world in a modest hut in Opuwo, Namibia, as his mother applies red ochre to her belly. Across the globe, Bayarjargal is born in a hospital in Bayanchandmani, Mongolia, before riding home on a motorcycle with his family. Meanwhile, Mari in Tokyo faces frustration with a toy, and Hattie in San Francisco grows bored during a play session.
