Synopsis

Camera crews in Hiroshima and Nagasaki captured the immediate devastation following the atomic bombings in August 1945. Initially, a Japanese newsreel team filmed the aftermath, risking their lives in the irradiated ruins. Later, the US Army took control of the footage, classifying it as top secret for decades. "Atomic Cover-up" discusses how this suppressed material obscured the human cost of nuclear warfare and influenced international relations during the nuclear arms race.
