Synopsis

Rahula, a painter in Mingun, Myanmar, lives with his family near the Ayeyarwaddy River, just 11 kilometers from Mandalay. In his studio, adjacent to the iconic brick pagoda, he works on a new canvas while reflecting on his life and career. With a cheroot in hand, Rahula discusses his unique name, his transition to abstract art, and the support of his wife, who he credits for his artistic evolution away from traditional tourist paintings.
