Synopsis

Anwar stands on the edge of a surviving piece of land, haunted by dreams of his submerged village, lost beneath the Kuibyshev reservoir. Meanwhile, in another part of Russia, Galina Zhmurova, the former director of the rural House of Culture, clings to her home as plans unfold to demolish the building before it too is engulfed by the Boguchansky reservoir. Both face the impending loss of their heritage and the memories tied to their communities.
