Synopsis

Mologa, a city once bustling with life, now lies beneath the Rybinsk Reservoir in Russia. Flooding in the 1930s and 1940s submerged approximately 700 villages and 140 churches and monasteries. Archival footage and expert interviews reveal the consequences of large-scale construction projects on the environment and culture. The film presents a significant loss in Russian history, covering the submerged city and the communities affected by this environmental change. Directed by Nikolay Viktorov, the documentary runs for 53 minutes.
