Synopsis

The Himba are an African tribe located in northern Namibia. In a significant cultural event, the women gather to dance for the men in the village. Komané experiences her first menstruation, known as Esuko, which is celebrated with a communal dance involving women from the Himba population. This event marks a pivotal moment in Komané's life, as her father will later remove her bracelets and anklets and cut her braids, signifying her readiness for marriage. The Himba culture allows for polygamy, reflecting their unique social structure.
