Synopsis

The Namib is the only desert on earth which reaches the ocean, presenting a unique ecosystem. Despite its harsh appearance, the Namib is home to various species, including the sidewinder snake, the endemic Namib desert beetle, and desert elephants. The Himba, one of the last native tribes, also inhabit this region, preserving their cultural history amidst the challenging environment. In a landscape where water is scarce, both humans and animals demonstrate remarkable creativity to quench their thirst. For instance, the Namib desert beetle cleverly utilizes moisture from the clouds that drift inland, showcasing the adaptability required to survive in this extraordinary desert.
