Synopsis

Trinidad, a poet born on the day of the Chichonal volcano's eruption, dreams of his community's past. In 1982, the volcano buried the Zoque indigenous town of Guayabal in southern Mexico. After 38 years, residents of Nuevo Guayabal work to rebuild their lives while the remnants of their old village lie hidden beneath the brushwood. Trinidad's visions inspire a collective effort to unearth their former home and reconnect with their history.
