Synopsis
Juris Bļodnieks drives his Chrysler Valiant “Slant Six” around New Jersey, a car adorned with anti-Soviet slogans like “Nyet, nyet Soviet.” and “Go(rbachev) to hell.” In the 1980s, North American Latvian youth engaged in protests, chaining themselves to the Russian Embassy and organizing a cruise ship along the Soviet border in the Baltic Sea. These actions generated headlines during the final years of the Cold War, as they sought to raise awareness about Latvia's illegal occupation.
