Synopsis

Chinese Canadian women's history is explored through the experiences of the first Chinese women who immigrated to Canada and their descendants. These women faced significant challenges, including racism and sexism, while preserving their language, culture, and values. The documentary features personal accounts from seven women who grew up in Canada during the early to mid-20th century, alongside historical photographs and the reflections of director Dora Nipp, whose grandfather arrived in Canada in 1881 to work on the railway.
