Synopsis

Eberhard and Donata Helmrich operated in Berlin and Eastern Europe during the Holocaust, risking their lives to save countless Jews. As a husband-and-wife team, they devised daring strategies to protect those in danger amid widespread violence. Their daughter, Cornelia, narrates their story, drawing from her childhood experiences when she learned of their efforts. Cornelia later became a journalist and politician, serving as the Federal Commissioner for Foreigner’s Affairs. The animated documentary is produced by Humanity in Action.
