Coal miners at Tower Colliery collaborate with director Brendan Wheatley to create an opera based on their experiences. The project began during the filming of “Charbons Ardents,” which documented their struggle to own the mine. This documentary follows the miners and artists as they merge their worlds to tell the story of their fight for ownership and identity. Directed by Jean-Michel Carré, "Tower Opera" runs for 57 minutes and was released in 2002.
